Rep. McKinney to Host
Hip Hop Power Shop June 10th, 2006

May 18, 2006

Cynthia McKinney

(Washington, DC) - FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Contact Coz Carson, Communications Dir.
(404) 633-0927 (404) 783-6059 cozcarson@gmail.com

WHO: Congresswoman Cynthia McKinney
WHAT: 4th annual Hip Hop Power Shop
WHEN: Saturday June 10th, 2006 12:00pm – 4:00pm
WHERE: Tupac Amaru Shakur Center

The theme of this historic gathering is: "ARMING OUR YOUTH WITH WEAPONS OF MASS INSTRUCTION."

Congresswoman Cynthia McKinney and the Hip Hop community are coming together to promote the awareness and education of young people. The socio-political impact of our government on the youth can't be ignored, even though their inherent power often is. By "ARMING OUT YOUTH WITH WEAPONS OF MASS INSTRUCTION," teaching the young how to engage in the system, Congresswoman McKinney believes that young people will be able to take their destiny into their own hands, and soar to heretofore unseen levels of achievement.

Various legislative initiatives which affect the youth will be discussed with some of the area's leading Hip Hop artists and community leaders. Enlightenment and empowerment will highlight this year's Fourth Congressional District Hop Hop Power Shop.
