![]() Our Motto is: We Serve That is exactly what we do. Lions International has been in existence since 1917. It all began with a man named Melvin Jones who was interested in having businessmen meet for the purpose of helping serve the needs of their community. It was the first club started for such a purpose. In 1925, Helen Keller was the guest speaker at an International Convention and it was at this time that she challenged Lions everywhere to become Knights of the Blind and do everything we could to bring an end to preventable blindness and help those who are blind. This remains our major goal all these years later.
