Welcome to the Aquidneck Island Horseman's Asso, Inc.
The Aquidneck Island Horseman's Association has been a vital part of the larger horse community of the state of Rhode Island. The club started in 1982 for the purpose of furthering the interests of the horse owners on the island but grew to include the surrounding towns of Tiverton, Little Compton and Bristol among others. Some members even hail from outside of the state of Rhode Island. AIHA educates its members on trail etiquette and safety for all trail users.
An Event which has proven to be the club's largest fund raiser is the annual Hunter Pace which is held every October. Proceeds raised have enabled AIHA to donate funding to a wide variety of causes; such as, Land Preservation, Natural Disasters, Animal Abuse to name a few. Other gatherings include trail rides and cookouts to name a few.
Business meetings are held every other month and anyone interested may attend.
Our next AIHA Business meeting will be held Tuesday, July 22nd at Glen Farm (Guest Speaker: George Hussey – Equine Dentist)Meet at 6:00 P.M. in front of the indoor arena and enjoy Lois Kessler's beautiful garden. There are tables and chairs but I would encourage you to bring along a chair as there won't be enough for everyone. Pizza and beverages will be available for a nominal fee. If weather is not favorable the meeting and discussion will be held in the viewing room which is attached to the indoor riding arena. Either way it will be a fun and informational gathering for AIHA members. Guest are welcome. Please email Rose Stabile at rstabile@cox.net to let her know you will be coming and we will know how many pizza's to have delivered. See you then.

Our 20th Annual Hunter Pace **Pre-event Information**. We celebrate our 20th anniversary of our well known hunter pace on October 5, 2008. AIHA is pleased to introduce the Sakonnet Greenway Trail to our course this year, which eliminates road riding and connects to other lovely properties which make this event truly unique.
A HUNTER PACE is a cross-country ride with a partner over a marked course of various terrain.
It will include jumps, all optional with go arounds. The distance is approx. 8 - 10 miles. The perfect time is the Ideal time which is determined prior to the event. The committee and volunteers take pride in offering a quality event for the local equestrian community on beautiful grounds. Enjoy the day and experience a canter along lovely private properties.
