A Brief History
1949 - Cursillo Retreats(little courses), Majorca, Spain
1987 - 1st ACTS - Held at Our Lady Of Perpetual Help, Selma, Texas
An ACTS retreat is unique in that it is parish based and run and organized by lay people. It focuses on faith sharing, community building, and service to others. Retreats are organized to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ among Catholic Church communities. The ministries presented at an ACTS retreat represent basic Catholic teachings (see ACTS 2:42-47). Everyone is invited to attend.
Our main ACTS CORE fundraiser- The 4th Annual SMM ACTS Golf Tournament will take place on Saturday March 29,2008 at Olympia Hills Golf Course. Breakfast and lunch will be served. For those who do not play golf we will also have a bunco party followed by lunch with the golfers. We will close with a raffle and auction. For more info call Pat Vera at 724-0844.
With the ending of the Womens retreat on 08/26/2007 we find that St. Mary Magdalen ACTS Community has served 579 men and women. Praise God!
Please join us for our SMM ACTS quarterly Mass on the first Sunday of the month at 12:00 noon February, May, August, and November. You are invited to wear your ACTS shirts and join us in Jubilee Hall afterwards for fellowship.

The Men's retreat has been set for June 26 thru June 29 2008. It will be held at the Omega Retreat Center in Boerne. The director for the Men's team is Juan Martinez. His Co-Directors are Nacho Vidaurri and Sal Salazar. For more information on the retreat please contact Juan Martinez at 274-1141.
The Northwest Deanery Teen's ACTS Retreat for SMM's Parish is also scheduled for June 26 thru June 29 2008. Please contact Audra Cardona at 735-5269 for details. May God Bless us and show us the way.
