Participation and Mission

The Ruckersville Citizens Council, comprised of local residents, land and business owners, has come together to work in concert with business owners, developers and county government to identify and execute a strategy resulting in an economically viable, aesthetically pleasing, environmentally friendly Ruckersville.

Our Mission Statement: Assist the community to maintain and enhance quality of life in the Ruckersville area, by uniting government, citizens, and service organizations in this effort.

The Greene County Comprehensive Plan indicates the majority of development in Greene County in the next 5 years will occur along the 29 Corridor in the Ruckersville area. Our group seeks resident's participation in the Comprehensive Plan update which will be started during 2008, to help formulate and execute a strategy which will maintain a human friendly environment.
