ACA is comprised of 24 geographical sections in the United States. The Evergreen Section includes Washington, Alaska, Montana, and the northern part of Idaho. Besides our nationally recognized Camp Accreditation Program. ACA offers education workshops and training sessions throughout the U.S. The ACA educates camp personnel in creating a positive growth experience for children, teens, and adults using the outdoors responsibly as a program environment. Regional conferences and a national con¬ference offer additional education opportunities. The national Guide to Accredited Camps published annually, gives full descriptions of over 2200 camps and 400 approved sites. It also provides valuable information for sending children to camp. Visit the National American Camping web site at WWW.acacamps.org ACA’s Advice on “How to choose a camp.” It's important to know children's personalities and identify what camp programs will benefit them most. When looking at camps, include your child in the decision-making process. By working together, you and your child will find a camp experience that will be cherished for a lifetime. Some camps have structured programs where camp staff schedule all campers' activities. Others are more flexible, allowing campers to choose some or all of their daily activities. Most camps have a wide assortment of outdoor activities, sports, and games. Many camps offer specialized programs in aquatics, hiking, horseback riding, and the performing arts. How activities are operated and conducted determine the quality of the camp program. Selecting the right program is often a matter of knowing your options and asking the right questions. Camp activities are not limited to children. A growing number of adults, families, and seniors are discovering programs to fit their needs too.

With the ParentMap monthly newsmagazine, the searchable Family Directory, our Pathways lecture series, BabyMap and other special issues that focus on education, summer activities, and housing issues, our community now has targeted local resources to help parents navigate the vast and remarkable terrain of family life. With constant feedback and involvement from parents and businesses, ParentMap hopes to make parents' lives easier by providing tools to quickly access information they need to know, when they need to know it and help local area businesses and organizations connect to the parents and families they serve. ![]() Since 1996, Passages Northwest has inspired over 2800 girls and women to discover courage within themselves through outdoor exploration.
