Meeting Minutes

September 20, 2007

Opening:

The regular meeting of the Ridge View Elementary PTO was called to order at 6:00 p.m. on September 20, 2007 in the library by Kat Holle.

Present:

A. Introduction of PTO Officers

Kat Holle, President; Renee Leaumont, Vice President; Kristi Scelzi, Treasurer; Darlene Rolph, Secretary

B. Introduction of Activity Coordinators

School Store. Kristine Bono is the parent sponsor of the school store. Kristine is evaluating what the store will sell and its hours of operation.

T-Shirt Sales. Kristen Vickerman has been handling T-Shirt Sales. Orders are due by October 1.

School Newspaper. Darlene Rolph is the parent sponsor of the school newspaper. The school newspaper will be published by 5th grade students.

Skate Night. Sandy Howland volunteered to coordinate the 3 Skate Nights that are scheduled for this year.

Workbox Coordinator: Traci Conachan volunteered to act as the coordinator for the teachers workbox. Traci will contact volunteers and arrange a working schedule.

Box Tops: Amy Crawford has volunteered to take over the Box Tops from the current coordinator.

C. Upcoming Events

October 2nd, Skate Night

October 5th, Jog-a-thon

October 18th, Muffins With Mom

D. 2007-2008 Budget Approval

The proposed budget was presented to attendees by Kristi Scelzi, Treasurer. After a review of the budget it was unanimously approved by all in attendance.

The majority of the discussion was regarding the monies that are listed under “School Support”. Some suggestions discussed as fitting into this category include but are not limited to Laser printers for teachers, headphone strips for CD players, hand held radios, document cameras, document camera mounting hardware, document camera light bulbs and an interactive learning system, as well as enhancements to the school’s new reading program.

Meeting was adjourned at 7:00p.m. by Kat Holle. The next general meeting will be at 3:15 on October 18, 2007 in the school library.
